Located north of Seattle, Everett is a port located in the heart of Snohomish County, a region of lakes and mountains. This is where Boeing's main factories operate, where the 747, 767, 777 and the recent 787 Dreamliner, which was rather controversial in 2013 and 2014 after several incidents, are being built. The last 737 MAX, also seriously questioned in 2019 due to successive accidents, left the nearby Renton plant. The Everett plant is the largest building in the world in terms of volume: 13,385,378 m3 are dedicated to aircraft assembly. From Everett, beautiful excursions are possible to Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest via Granite Falls (Hwy 92). Snohomish (Hwy 2) is the oldest city in the region (1853) and connects the cities of Leavenworth and Wenatchee, and north of Everett, it joins the Canadian border with the city of Vancouver via Mount Vernon, Anacortes and Bellingham. From Vernon, we head east to North Cascades National Park; and from Anacortes, take the ferry to reach the San Juan Islands.
