Nowadays, it has 133,807 inhabitants and houses a university, the KVINT distillery, a museum, a theatre, monuments... The statue of General Alexander Suvorov, founder of Tiraspol, is enthroned in the park near the central square and the Dniester. Statues of Lenin stand in front of the House of Soviets and the Supreme Soviet.
