Located a hundred kilometers northeast of Bangkok, this city, with the same name as the province, offers nature lovers a chance to escape Bangkok and enjoy the charm of its natural parks and waterfalls. The city is ancient, probably founded in the 11th century during the Dvâravatî period, as archaeological excavations at the Dong Lakhon site suggest. There are several interesting temples to visit and, a few kilometers away, a curiosity, Ganesha Park, with its enormous pink Ganesh, its statues of Shiva and Brahma, its dragons... Buses leave every 30 minutes or so from Mo Chit station.
