Just a few steps in the bazaar of Osh is enough to understand the origin of the name of the second largest city in the country. Shopkeepers pushing wheelbarrows overloaded with bread, meat or cloth make their way through the compact crowd shouting, "Osh! Osh! "Yet legend attributes it to another, much nobler origin (see History below) It is also for its bazaar that tourists come to visit the city of Osh, as it is one of the largest traditional bazaars in Central Asia. And it is to pray on the sacred hill of Suleiman (Solomon) that pilgrims come from all over Central Asia.
