Travel Guide Cholpon-Ata

Cholpon-Ata is the main town on the north shore of the lake. Known by archaeologists for its petroglyph deposits, which have given rise to one of the most interesting museums in the country, it owes its reputation today mainly to its beaches, which attract the most beautiful fortunes in Central Asia as soon as the good weather arrives. Hotels and residences of luxury invaded the banks of this small Kyrgyz "Saint-Trop'". A city with its feet in the water but which does not lose anything of its Kyrgyz character since the mountains are at less than 10 minutes from the city centre. In summer, considering the traffic, Cholpon-Ata is also an interesting road node to get to Kazakhstan. The airport, on the other hand, operates only very randomly and the companies operating from Cholpon-Ata are all blacklisted.
