Eblouissantes façades qui ont miraculeusement échappé au chaos de la seconde guerre mondiale.
La mairie de la Markplatz est un livre ouvert, décoré avec opulence de fresques remarquables enrichies de commentaires en gothique ancien. Les façades nord et ouest sont couvertes des fresques réalisées vers 1540 par l'artiste Martin Schaffner. Ne pas manquer de s'attarder sur ce chef-d'oeuvre de l'horlogerie antique : l'horloge astronomique construite en 1581.
