Although it passes for an extension of Boston, Somerville is a city in its own right, with some 80,000 inhabitants. The pace is slower there than in Boston, and there is a more family atmosphere. Less affluent than Brookline, less vibrant than Cambridge, Somerville is still a pleasant stopover for an afternoon. Its residential streets are pleasant and the town is home to the curious Museum of Bad Art, which is rather unique of its kind. In addition, since 2012 Somerville has been home to Boston's first outlet , which welcomes large crowds, especially on weekends. Assembly Row includes dozens of shops, restaurants and even a movie theater
