In the 1960s and 1970s, when the jet-set melted away on Mykonos, it was here that hippies came to live as close to nature as possible. Times have changed, but Plaka beach, 11 kilometers south of Chora, which stretches from the south of Aghia Anna to the resort of Plaka via the resort of Magaras, remains the longest on the island and one of the most beautiful in the country: white sand and turquoise waters over 5 kilometers long! Still frequented by naturists in the rare places that are still a little wild, the beach has seen hotel complexes spring up among the juniper trees. But even in August, it's so vast that there's something for everyone in this corner of paradise.
