It is from Bellemont that it is possible to take the original Route 66 on the north side of theinterstate and reach Parks by a superb route through the forest. Of the 6 miles between exit 185 (Bellemont) and exit 178 (Parks), 3 miles are on a dirt road. Only to be used in dry weather. From exit 185, Route 66 is called Frontage Road, then Branigan Park Road. If you are unsure about taking this section, continue on theinterstate to exit 178... or exit at Bellemont only to go to the Harley Davidson dealership and/or the Route 66 Roadhouse Bar and Grill next door.
