McLean is only worth a short stop for its Dixie Truckers Home, south of town and off I-55. This truck stop, built in 1928, was the oldest in the United States. In its early days, it was a simple garage with a café and 6 stools where drivers could order sandwiches. Everything was provided for the truckers: rooms, snack bar, showers, game room, garage... Today, the site has become a large modern gas station. Only the Hall of Fame - a corridor near the toilets with some pictures - is dedicated to the Mother Road. On the parking lot, you can admire some superb American trucks with sparkling chrome
