It is the most interesting and historical place on the island of Mljet. Prožura is a medieval inland village, which was chosen by the Ragusan nobles. They used to spend their summers here regularly. A rectangular tower dominates the skies: the village was the victim of frequent pirate attacks in the 17th century. Three churches were built in Prožura: the Church of the Holy Trinity (Sv. Trojice), the Church of St. Martin (Sv. Martin) and a church dedicated to St. Roch (Sv. Rok). Today, only about 50 people live in this village throughout the year
