Digital techniques and video game-inspired creatures are at the heart of Mary-Audrey Ramirez's work. Reflections on the contrasts between imagination and reality, and the intrusive omnipresence of digital technology in our daily lives, define the artist's creative universe.

His installations, often imbued with apocalyptic beauty and not devoid of subtle humor, are rooted in the world of video games. In fact, for her exhibition at Casino Luxembourg, Mary-Audrey Ramirez has designed a video game that is an integral part of her work, pushing the encounter between fiction and reality even further.

Ever since the Lumière brothers' cinematograph recorded their workers leaving the factory in 1895, the camera lens has been an essential witness to the evolution, history and politics of work. As Harun Farocki remarked of the famous "Factory Exit" images, they show us that "the determination of workers' movement represents something, that the visible movement of individuals replaces the absent and invisible movement of commodities, capital and ideas in industry". If they aim to capture the reality of workers and their daily lives, images of work are themselves inseparable from the modes of production intrinsic to the cinematic medium.

With this in mind, the group exhibition Images at Work, curated by Laura Lux, brings together experimental documentaries and artists' films that capture the mechanics, manual routines and poetic experiences of work on old and new production sites, while exploring the history of its representation through the moving image.
