If you like sushi and Japanese dishes, you won't be disappointed at Taka. The rolls are excellent, made to order with extra-fresh fish. Udon noodles are also featured here, prepared just like in Japan! A special mention goes to the fried wontons which, although not from Japan, will delight Asian food lovers. To round off the meal, you'll be surprised to discover sesame or beet ice creams, a real final delight. If you're staying at the nearby Radisson, you've found your canteen!

Lovers of quality Lebanese cuisine won't want to miss Chef Roger's tiny restaurant, known as the White Wolf to Lebanese Belizeans, who come here whenever they feel homesick. Rarely tasted tabbouleh, delicious lamb and tasty kebabs will delight your palate. You have to know your way around to get here, and at first you may think you've come to the wrong address, but the smoke from the wood fire over which the pitas are made is unmistakable!

We come to Martha's Café for its old-fashioned atmosphere, its tasteful decor, its view of Belize City Bay and, above all, for its refined vegetarian cuisine with an oriental flavour. Boasting high ceilings, polished parquet flooring, huge picture windows and a panoramic veranda with breathtaking views of Haulover Creek and the Caribbean Sea. It's a large, windowless room behind a smaller one that opens onto the street and serves as a counter for locals who come here for a drink. The food here is hearty and made-to-order on the spot, and the place has the indescribable advantage of being open on Sundays. The never-ending menu includes the famous chow mein (fried noodle dishes), curry, fried rice, chop sue and egg foo, available in vegetarian or carnivorous versions. Combos are available if there are two of you, or if you only want one meal a day...

Located next to the Central Bank of Belize and the National Museum, this restaurant is housed in a beautiful building with green walls. Inside, a large dining room with a family and friendly atmosphere. The menu is a bit disconcerting with almost 100 dishes on offer, but if you rely on the classic (chicken, meat or pork dishes), everything will be fine. Fishing of the day is also a good choice, with fresh fish or even lobster; pasta is also very popular. Cake and ice cream for dessert. Impeccable service.

Ideal for a gourmet break, BTL Park is packed with little shacks offering a variety of specialities (wood-fired pizzas, Jamaican dishes, Filipino specialities, Mexican dishes...). The "vegan bites" shack is also very popular. The establishments change over the years, but it's always worth dropping by BTL Park on a trip to Belize City, as you'll often discover good local dishes that aren't often sold in the city's traditional restaurants. Good value for money.

Hotel Restaurant at the Ramada Hotel, it is ideally located in the quiet seaside area and the reception is very nice. You can choose to eat in the large interior room of this wooden house, or on the small outside deck, to give you the impression of being on an island. The most famous dishes are the "Surf and Turf" (wonder mixture of lobster and beef fillet), garlic lobster or the Veracruz fish (sauce based on capers and red wine). At noon, a special menu based on fritures of fish and poultry. Only inconvenience, when the restaurant is full, the service can be a little slow.

Small restaurant serving delicious Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. On Tuesdays only, you can also enjoy fresh sushi. The specialties change every lunchtime, but the restaurant is most famous for its soups and ravioli. Portions are generally very generous. A very good address where vegetarians will also be delighted to find a menu complete enough for them. Don't miss the colorful desserts, in the purest Asian style and with surprising flavors. Please note that this is a lunchtime address only.

A wooden terrace with a breathtaking view of Belize City bay, in the very safe embassy district, on the seafront promenade leading to the big BELIZE sign where people like to have their photo taken, here's what's on offer at this friendly restaurant where the Belize City Jetset likes to meet for a drink, lunch or dinner. Wraps, ceviche and burgers are the order of the day, but fish dishes are not neglected. A very good place.

Here's a little restaurant that's not so easy to find by chance, but well worth the detour. Specializing in ceviches and salpicons, Gina welcomes you in a pretty little protected outdoor room that can accommodate around 15 people, and offers a range of ceviches and salpicons that will delight your taste buds. We recommend the conch ceviche (lambi), very well seasoned, and the salpicon of smoked chicken with shrimps, very original, with the same base as the ceviche (tomatoes, onions, coriander) but less common in restaurants.

Located in front of the Best Western on the North highway, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but locals regularly rush there before taking the road (10 minutes from downtown by cab) to have a typical Lebanese break. Very good dishes with generous portions are offered for reasonable prices. The lamb, coming from New Zealand, is delicious and perfectly cooked. The decoration is not great, but we come here to eat well. A great address! The owner even speaks French if you push him.

Opened in 2013, this establishment combines an indoor café and an outdoor bar/restaurant with an open kitchen and views of the old wooden boats that have anchored here. The menu features classic English breakfast-style dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Assorted bagels, muffins, samoussas, paninis and other sweet and savory delights. As for drinks, the coffee here is 100% Belizean, and can be enjoyed hot or iced, the latter a refreshing option. In short, we recommend this address without hesitation.

There are several supermarkets in town, selling everything from food products to household appliances, luggage and stationery... The sandwich department is well worth a visit, and the locals love it. You can compose your sandwich to suit your taste (different types of bread, cheeses, cold meats, tuna, etc.) and your appetite (several sizes: 6 inches - about 15 cm -, 1 foot - about 30 cm). Perfect for budget-conscious eaters looking for a change from the deep-fried street-food available on every corner of the city.

The large, bright, wooded room is a haven of fresh air for those who venture in during the day. It's hard to leave afterwards, especially after enjoying the international cuisine served here. Curiously, the speciality is stone-cooking: fish or meat dishes are brought to the table on hot cooking stones, and continue to be prepared in front of you. A well-stocked bar and the option of dining outside by the pool in the evening. A real treat.
