Karima, or "generous" in Arabic, is the heir of Napata, whose name contributed to the glory of Nubia. It is a milestone town between Dongola and Atbara that lost much of its past animation. The train no longer passes, the boats no longer sail… Karima is now asleep. It is, however, the basis for all the curious people who want to learn more about the Black Pharaohs.
