Niasvij is one of the best preserved historical sites in Belarus. The city was first mentioned in ancient chronicles in 1446. In 1533, she became property of the powerful Radziwill family, famous magnates of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The Radziwill choose the city as a place of residence and reign there for four centuries, turning it into capital and an important cultural centre. At the end of the th century, Niasvij was completely rebuilt. The chaotic system of medieval lanes is replaced by geometric planning preserved until today. There are still a few ruins of the fortifications of the south-eastern part of the city. The Radziwill Palace is part of the National Heritage. Near Minsk, Niasvij offers numerous walks and visits.
