Petit Futé's opinion on FAIRY HOLE CAVE PARK

Plate millesim 2022

It is an exceptional natural site with many attractions, starting with the tumultuous Metabetchouane River with its waterfalls, cascades and diverse forest cover. Explore its canyon and enjoy the water intake pipe walk, a historical reminder of its industrial heritage that leads to the remains of a hydroelectric plant. Walk 8 metres above the water on footbridges anchored to the rock capes for a distance of 205 metres. For adrenaline seekers, cross the canyon on two zip lines totalling 350 metres in length and 50 metres above the river. For the contemplative, don't miss the immersive show ÉCHO, la mémoire des pierres with its sound effects and light shows in the heart of a natural amphitheatre without equal in Quebec, carved in the granite of the Canadian Shield. Then comes the cavern, a unique phenomenon in Canada due to its formation in this famous granite that is over a billion years old. It is the ideal place to experience caving for the first time: easy to visit, it offers safe supervision. Also on site: 4.5 km of hiking trails. Not recommended for people with reduced mobility or under 5 years old. Walking shoes mandatory, sportswear and sweater recommended. Duration: 3h to 3h30 for the complete visit of the park and the cave. See the website for detailed rates according to the activities chosen.

Spectacular and grandiose! The park of the cave offers an environment typical of the most beautiful landscapes of Quebec. Discover the tumultuous Metabetchouane River with its falls, waterfalls, and the diversity of its forest cover. Even if they are imposing, these two unique infrastructures in Quebec are perfectly integrated into the landscape and offer impressive, varied and photogenic views.
