Satigny is Switzerland's largest wine-growing commune. It comprises six villages and hamlets devoted to agriculture or viticulture: Satigny, "the capital", Bourdigny, Choully, Montfleury, Peissy and Peney. They are renowned not only for their many vineyards and beautiful estates, but also for their gourmet restaurants. Every year, on the Saturday before Saint Martin's Day, a festival is held in the village of Peissy. This is an opportunity to discover the new wine, the "bourru" (still cloudy wine), which can be tasted on this occasion.
