Chêne-Bougeries is a commune in the canton of Geneva, encompassing several districts on the eastern outskirts of the city. The historic center is very picturesque, with old buildings and pleasant restaurants. In the past, it was an important crossing point between Geneva and neighboring France. In May 1860, for example, no fewer than 2,350 carriages passed through the town in a single day. Then came the tramway to modernize traffic patterns. Today, it's a much-used thoroughfare leading to the French border. The town is dynamic and offers nature trails for the well-being of its inhabitants.
