With its significant medieval fortress with four round towers at each corner of the square formed by 3-metre thick ramparts, and its classification as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, Yèvre-le-Châtel, far from wasting its heritage, has arranged its village beautifully. The remains of the church Saint-Gault forced the admiration of Victor Hugo who walked on the banks of the Rimarde, a river dividing the Beauce from the Gâtinais.
