Shortly after Ifaty, we leave the RN9 and turn left onto the coastal track to Andavadoaka. Up to Manombo Sud, the track is in mediocre condition, after which it changes to sand and is a little better. Shortly before Manombo, we reach the seaside to observe a landscape of dunes and a multitude of typical pirogues. The scenery becomes impressive: a small track zigzags between gigantic trees, zebu carts, and people suddenly bursting out of the bush from who knows where... We cross Fiherenamasay, while the marvellous lagoon appears, and then Ankasy is discovered as if by magic, an enchanting site.
