Travel Guide Sićevo (Сићево)

On the road to Pirot, 12 km south of Niš, the village of Sićevo hosts a colony of painters. The fashion was started by Nadežda Petrović and every summer for the past ninety years the most famous painters of the country gather there. They set up their equipment in an old Belle Époque schoolhouse and get busy with their work. Exhibitions, conferences and painting workshops are organized by these masters. To make matters worse, the village is located in a 17 km long gorge, the Šicevačka Gorge, which offers some great opportunities for walking. A really relaxed atmosphere, in a pleasant setting and in the company of talented artists.
