The small town of Trstenik, located halfway between Kraljevo and Kruševac (about 30 km away), in the Morava Valley, has a very interesting architectural heritage. In 1784, it was still an Ottoman town, as evidenced by the 47 Turkish houses, the mosque and the two han listed by the Austrian officer Miteser. In 1832, Miloš Obrenović decided to move this important trading point two kilometers to the west. The intense cultural life of Trstenik was fostered by the Ethnographic Museum, amateur theater and literary meetings. The writers Dobrica Čosić or Vladislav Ribnikar were born in the area.
