Near the north-south axis and the Belgrade-Niš highway, Kruševac, with its 145,000 inhabitants, can be a stop on the way to the South. It is a small town in the most forested region of Serbia: 35% of its area is forested. The city has a turbulent history, marked by wars. Founded in 1371 by Prince Lazarus, he made it his capital. It is from there that he leaves for the battle of Kosovo Polje, where he is killed. A large part of the population will settle in Hungary and the city, which falls in the hands of the Turks in 1455, takes the name of Alidza Hisar. The city is the scene of many clashes during the two world wars
