Travel Guide Zlatar

Backed by the city, Zlatar is both the most impressive mountain range in the region and a leisure park with many outdoor activities. Birch forests and very tall fir trees characteristic of this region alternate with meadows and high mountain pastures, in colours ranging from fir green to bright yellow. In addition, three rivers, the Bistrica, Mileševka and Lima, provide clear, living water; the Lima Canyon passes the river through narrow walls at a height of up to 50 m. In this lush natural setting, trekking, caving and hang-gliding are among the most popular activities. But family walks along a few marked trails, with stops in alpine chalets, are also appreciated. In winter, you can explore the snow-covered massif with snowshoes or cross-country skiing. There are also three alpine ski slopes, 600 to 1,000 m long each, which are not very difficult.
