MUSELIMOV KONAK (КОНАК МУСЕЛИМОВ)
Petit Futé's opinion on MUSELIMOV KONAK (КОНАК МУСЕЛИМОВ)
A museum to see absolutely. Built in the th century in the Serbian mountain style, this house is the oldest house in the city. It represents an important place of remembrance for the Serbs, because it was in its cellar that the Knez Aleksa and Ilija Birčanin were beheaded by the Turks. The museum is divided into two sections. The ground floor shows more than 150 pieces of the time of the first Serbian uprising: Turkish rifles with stretched barrel, steep daggers and @ @, gold embroidered flags of the first th century Serbian battalions as well as documents written during the years 1804-1815. Next, the guide leads us to the cellars where the scene of the execution of 4 February 1804 of the two leaders of the Serbian uprising was reconstituted. A slice of history that illuminates us on a fragment of the country's past.
