The Cathedral of the Resurrection of the Lord is the largest and most important Orthodox church in Valjevo, and can accommodate more than 2,000 worshippers. The construction of the building began in 1992, but as a monumental project, it was not really completed until 2010. It was designed by the architect Ljubica, a Bosnian from Belgrade. Gigantic, the first floor of the temple has an area of 978m2, including nearly 229m2 of galleries.
