CHURCH OF THE HOLY VIRGIN

In the old cemetery of Smederevo, one can still find a small church of a monastery that has disappeared. There is no historical information about its founder, but stylistic analysis allows us to date the building to the 15th century. With its plan of three radiating apses and its materials of brick and stone, this church belongs to the Morava school. Inside, some 17th century wall paintings illustrate scenes from the life of Christ.
