A few kilometers from Novi Sad, on the right bank of the Danube, is the Fruška Gora mountain range, known for its monasteries and famous for its national park. Besides being a national park, Fruška Gora is also a mountain. Although it may seem trivial, it is the only mountain in the Pannonian plain (Vojvodina) that is completely flat. To get there from Novi Sad, cross to the other side of the Danube and cross Sremska Kamenica. Continue straight on up to Iriški Venac: around this hamlet and within a radius of 20 km are scattered sixteen Orthodox monasteries. Further west is a well-known nature reserve.
