RESIDENCE OF PRINCE MILOŠ (КОНАК МИЛОШЕВ)

This superb residence was built for Prince Miloš Obrenović at the top of the old Royal Park. The prince settled there intermittently during his first reign, then continuously during the second period, until his death in 1860. The architecture of the residence combines the Balkan style (wooden windows, brick roof roof) and Central Europe (geometric plane and great perspectives). Inside the building, an interesting permanent exhibition on the First and Second Serbian revolts against the Turks as well as family portraits of the Obrenović dynasty. The building is located in the middle of a very pleasant park, where the Dnevni enjoy walking away from the heat and wind. Note the imposing tree tree, planted around 1831, just at the entrance to the prince's konak. In the park of Topčider, the environment of princes was discovered in the th century. First, the private church of Prince Obrenović, dedicated to the saints Peter and Paul. It was built in 1832 on the very spot where, 28 years earlier, the prince escaped from execution ordered by his rival Karađorđe. Its simple plan in Greek cross with two baroque belfries, and the use of a stone with warm colours give it great elegance. The 13 hectares of the park are rich in majestic trees and rare flowers, thanks in particular to the good offices of French gardeners employed by Prince Miloš in the th century. We will not leave without seeing the building of the railway station Topčider. In a very central European style, this former and formerly important railway station of the dnevni network is small and graceful with its colombages, to the most savage place of the park below.
