Recco is an important stop for gastronomic tourism and is famous for its famous cheese focaccia. As far as heritage is concerned, under the 1944-1945 bombings that targeted the railroad, the city lost a lot of buildings of its historical urban fabric. The church of San Giovanni Battista and San Giovanni Bono is worth seeing, with its beautiful 17th century paintings of sacred art. If you are in the area around September 7 and 8, do not miss the fireworks show on the sea, in honor of the Madonna del Suffragio. You can even come from Genoa by boat to see it up close (www.liguriaviamare.it).
