The name Saly would come from a young girl to whom the Portuguese would have asked the name of the village. She would have answered by giving them her first name: Saly! Portugal was later transformed into "Portudal". The world-famous seaside resort of Saly is the largest tourist center in Senegal and West Africa, renowned for its white sandy beach lined with coconut trees where resort hotels are lined up. Saly is the ultimate in all-inclusive farniente on the Petite Côte, with everything you could want at your fingertips. Tourists usually spend one or two weeks here on an all-inclusive stay, booking a package from Paris via travel agencies. Saly seems spread out in space along the coast, has no real center, as it was actually designed so that all the big hotels face the ocean, each with its own beach concession. To the south, if you go along the beach, you will find Saly Portudal, the old fishing village at the origin of the resort, and then still continuing south Saly Niakh Niakhal, where the cheapest accommodation is located. Leisure activities are the other advantage of Saly: from microlighting to golf and almost all water sports, including deep-sea fishing. Everything is possible as long as you pay a certain price
