GUM WALL
Probably Seattle's most original attraction, this brick wall located in a small alley adjacent to Pike Place Market has been covered with hundreds of thousands of chewing gums over the years by residents and tourists alike. This tradition dates back to the early 1990s when spectators from a nearby theatre began to stick their chewing gum to the wall once the show was over. Today, it is considered unhygienic by the city. It's true that it's a little "disgusting" we're not going to stick to it either for the photo pose but the result is colorful and... aesthetic in a certain way. In November 2015, the company carried out a major campaign to clean the wall. In vain since passers-by started sticking their chewing gum again only a few hours after the city's Kärchers passed by.
