Bumbershoot means umbrella in old slang, self-mockery obliges Seattle. And it is the name of one of the biggest festivals on the West Coast that has existed since 1971 (the first edition attracted 125,000 people!). More than 100 national and international artists and groups attract nearly 50,000 spectators every year during the three-day Labor Day weekend in the 300,000 m2 park of the Seattle Center
