This flower-filled town is bordered by the Rhine to the east and the forest to the west. Historically, Biesheim has been inhabited since Gallo-Roman times. A major archaeological site provides ample evidence of Roman occupation up to the 4th century. Today, Biesheim offers excellent opportunities for boat trips along the Giessen, whose banks have been cleverly landscaped. There's also a fitness trail and two cycle paths linking Biesheim to Kunheim and Vogelsheim. Biesheim also boasts a lively cultural life, thanks to the Gallo-Roman Museum and the Optics Museum.
