Humanities Research Center holds treasures, including a Gutenberg Bible printed between 1450 and 1455 in Austin
This research center on the Humanities holds treasures, including a Gutenberg Bible printed between 1450 and 1455, in a complete edition. Only 21 complete copies of this Bible remain in the world, including the one exhibited here (France holds two complete copies in the Bibliothèque Nationale). Another rarity is The First Photograph, the first photograph ever taken, which dates from 1826 or 1827. It was taken by the Frenchman Nicéphore Niépce and represents a view of Le Gras, in Burgundy. The temporary exhibitions are of the highest quality.
