A line goes through Austin, the Texas Eagle line. She's joining Chicago in Los Angeles. It connects San Antonio with El Paso, Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth within Texas. Trains also stop in other Texas cities: Marshall, Longview, Mineola, Cleburne, McGregor, Temple, Taylor, San Marcos, Del Rio, Sanderson and Alpine. From Austin to Los Angeles, a direct train leaves at 6:30 pm on Monday and Wednesday and arrives in LA at 5:35 am (a trip of just over 37 hours), while on the other days of the week, other trains join the city of angels after 2 changes. To go back north and Chicago, a train at 9:30 a.m. leaves daily from Austin, arriving the next day at 1:52 p.m. in Chicago. Quite an experience then!
