Santana, 10 km from São Tomé, is the country's fourth-largest town, with a population of around 7,000. Here, the painter Osvaldo O. Reis works in a colorful abstract style. On leaving the village, a track on the left leads to Club Santana, located next to a beautiful beach lined with coconut palms. Santana has two sports clubs, one for surfing (in the center), the other for diving at Club Santana, for amateurs who can indulge their passion in incredible sites with turquoise waters.Santana can be reached by taking one of the yellow buses from the municipal market. The fare is around 10 STN each way.
