Travel Guide Trindade

Before reaching the centre of the island's second largest city (about 16,100 inhabitants), you pass the personal residence of the former president of the Republic Fradique de Menezes, Quinta da Favorita, which is not a prestigious palace. Trindade is a small, clean town with a large gas station. More and more houses are being restored here, a sign of prosperity for the town, which is very close to São Tomé, about 8 kilometres away. The town is not really interesting in itself, except for shopping. In the vicinity of Monte Café, the São Nicolau waterfall offers a moment of coolness in the heart of an exuberant nature.
