If you like pork, the chuleta en salsa maracuya (pork chop with passion fruit sauce) should make you happy. The staff is friendly. A safe bet!

Perfect place to enjoy very good pizzas in a typical Italian setting: wood-fired pizzas, red and white checkered tables, warm welcome, everything is there. On match nights, the TV is on and you come with your family or friends to watch it. The pizzas are as good and almost as big as in Italy! Don't hesitate to have it delivered if you want to stay at your hotel, it has become common since the pandemic and the deliveries are very fast, no need to reheat your pizza when you arrive!

In the heart of Riobamba, César Oña, a native of the country who studied abroad and stayed with a chef, has opened an apparently unpretentious bar-cafeteria on the main avenue, Daniel Leon Borja. The food here is Ecuadorian, even "Riobambenian" quality, prepared with fresh local products. Ask for an empanada de morocho and you will be taken for a local! They also serve good chicken wings with chips. The service is friendly, the dishes are of good quality. Perfect place for a quick break and not very expensive.

This small cosy pizzeria, in the centre of Riobamba, where you can sit in wooden boxes, offers about fifteen good pizzas of 4 different sizes. Also spaghetti (including an amazing recipe with vodka). Large choice of wines, natural fruit juices and batidos. On football match nights, people gather here to support the Ecuadorian team, come what may! A pleasant and relaxing stop. This cosy, modern style cafe opens its doors for a gourmet break or late lunch. There are all kinds of snacks and drinks (coffees, fruit juices…). Often live live music evenings on weekends.

It nestles in front of the hotel of the same name. There is a simple restoration of sandwiches and hamburgers, not given, in a cosy atmosphere. Practical and well maintained.

Just a stone's throw from Maldonado Park and the cathedral, an excellent address (which doesn't look like much) for a little hunger after a good walk. The homemade ice creams with all the exotic and natural flavours, the fresh fruit juices and the pastries are pure marvels. The coffee is not to be outdone, prepared with an organic coffee from Loja in the south of the country, it rivals the best Italian coffees. It is here that you will probably have the best breakfast in Riobamba. A must-see.

Among the few Chinese restaurants occupying the station, it has proved to be an excellent option. It offers all Chinese specialties at derisory prices, including delicious soups. The servings are more than generous and a dish of rice or fried noodles is sufficient for 2 people. Kitchen and family atmosphere.

Here you can be lured by the sellers who will entice you with their hornado (the famous roasted pig) served with white corn. The dish to try.
