In the extreme north of the state, between Maceio and Recife, Maragogi (28,700 inhabitants) is the second most visited place in Alagoas (after Maceió) and owes its reputation to the numerous and imposing natural pools located 6 kilometers from the coast and which dot its turquoise coastline. The marine reserve of Galés (6 km offshore) is the main attraction. In the middle of the ocean, reefs and improbable sandbanks that one does not get tired of going through. Today, access to the Galés is limited to 720 people per day because the constant coming and going of speedboats full of tourists was detrimental to the environment
