Located 7 km from the city of Quepos, the city of Manuel Antonio has no real attraction other than the national park of the same name lined with white sand beaches. A majestic setting of natural harmony, between beaches, tropical forests, ocean and mangroves. The park is often mentioned as the great must-see of a trip to Costa Rica: its proximity to San José facilitates the transfer of travelers in a hurry. Emblematic for its fauna, Manuel Antonio is a true concentrate of the animals that can be found in Costa Rica; it is the refuge of numerous migratory birds, with 180 species listed, which enjoy the primary and secondary forests, the mangrove and the dozens of islets near the coast. You can expect to find sloths, monkeys and iguanas, but you will surely be surprised by the countless treasures that the park holds: multicolored crabs, big bats, raccoons and turtles. There are also more than 100 species of mammals. Outside the park, a beautiful sandy beach will please surfers as well as swimmers and idlers. On the heights of Manuel Antonio, there are nice little restaurants with a breathtaking view of the ocean and the sunset. As far as the climate is concerned, you will be hot because it is on average 30°C all year round! It rains mostly during the green season (3,400 mm of rainfall per year).
