Monte de la Cruz is located 12 kilometers northeast of Heredia, passing through San Rafael de Heredia. It is the northern counterpart of Aserrí (south of San José). It is from this high point that you can enjoy the best view of the Central Valley. Climb up to the Paradero del Monte de la Cruz, and on a clear day enjoy the spectacular view from the park. The air is clean, the mountains green, and it's an extremely pleasant break that we recommend you turn into a picnic on the grass if you arrive late in the morning. You can also take the opportunity to walk on the many accessible paths.
