About twenty kilometers to the east towards Bayamo. The place, today a small town, was the birthplace of the first Indian rebellion led by the Indian cacique Hatuey. Arrested by the Spaniards, he was condemned to the stake and burned alive. A brand of Cuban beer, Hatuey, immortalized his name. However, you should know that there is no site to visit on the spot, this town is more a place of memory as such. There is no need to make the trip (only by car, 40 € AR) unless you are passionate about this episode of the history of Cuba.
