About twenty kilometers to the east towards Bayamo. The place, today a small town, was the birthplace of the first Indian rebellion led by the Indian cacique Hatuey. Arrested by the Spaniards, he was condemned to the stake and burned alive. A brand of Cuban beer, Hatuey, immortalized his name.
