Petit Futé's opinion on LITTLE CHAPEL OF ST. MICHAEL

Vintage plate 2020

Perched at an altitude of 323 m, the chapel offers a vast view of the surrounding bocage, and on a clear day on the Mont-Saint-Michel, located several dozen kilometres away. The chapel houses ancient statues and a 17th century polychrome wooden altar representing the Last Supper. Nearby is Cote 314, an observation post that German soldiers used to watch over the area between 1942 and 1944. The place was the scene of heavy fighting in 1944.
