The locality is known for its rubber plantation. Cross the bridge over the Mekong River and head for the village of Chup, 16 km away. The plantation, in the middle of which the roads are oriented north-south and east-west, forming a gigantic checkerboard, covers 11,000 hectares. It was once the domain of the Compagnie du Cambodge (French) and is now owned by the Cambodian government. The rubber processing plant was established in 1922 by the French. Although production has had its ups and downs, it has never really stopped, and today the plantation still supports thousands of families
