Located on the RN 5, 83 km from Phnom Penh and 197 km from Battambang, Kompong Chhnang is an important fishing port on the Tonle Sap (river connecting the lake of the same name to the Mekong). Fish farming is practiced there. The region is famous for its archaic manufacture of pottery whose production supplies the whole country. Not to mention the cultivation of thnot, the palm tree that abounds in the area: sugar and palm wine. There is little interest for the visitor except to see these various productions. We will stop there if we are in transit and if we have to change buses to connect different regions of the country. The city is big enough to offer small hotels and restaurants
