Located a few kilometres north of Phnom Kouy, the small town of Kamrieng is the capital of a new district with its name. It is a border village as in the best adventure movies: crushed wooden huts, a dirty market and then dirt, dust and misery. In the middle of all this, along the border, stands a concrete wall about 5 m high with barbed wire. The whole refers to some secret prison where moisiraient the enemies of the regime, but it is actually… from a casino! As the place is forbidden to Cambodians (to prevent them from getting ruined), the entrance is on the Thai side and players must pass on a small bridge to access the casino built on Khmer soil but accessible from Thailand only. The grand door of behind is reserved for Cambodians employed by the casino, it is open only the day. From Païlin, only bikes can join Kamrieng, if you want to go by car, then you have to go through Kamping Puoy and the road of Sampeou Loun.
