The last big town on the road to Saigon, Svay Rieng has, fortunately, nothing in common with its neighbor Néak Luong. In fact, compared to the latter, it's a pleasant, tree-lined town with a few pretty colonial buildings. A small river runs through the town, making it a pleasant place to stroll in the evenings and stop for a teukalok. Be warned, though: after two days in the city, you'll be bored stiff... But chances are you're just passing through, or you just enjoy doing nothing and letting life take its course. You've come to the right place!
