On leaving Phnom Chisor, many will beg for mercy and long for their air-conditioned hotel room in Phnom Penh. The more courageous, however, will be able to make a little extra and consider an additional excursion which, in any case, will not be possible on the same day.Head south to the astonishing village of Takeo, now renamed Doun Kaev (this name is hardly used by the local population), still partly in ruins but with a lovely renovated lakefront. You can reach Takeo from Phnom Penh by bus, a 2h30 journey. There are a few guesthouses on site.
