Open since 1985, the Regattabar is one of the best places to listen to jazz in Boston and, according to some, all over New England! The club is located in the Charles Hotel on the third floor. You can have a drink on the spot, but on the restaurant side, it is only possible to nibble on a few dishes to share. Plan to dine somewhere before or after the show, the doors open at 6:45 pm on concert nights. The hall is quite spacious, but it is better to arrive early to have a good table, close to the stage.

This theatre hosts a large number of shows throughout the year, including headliners and popular performances. Among the personalities who have performed there, Bryan Cranston (Walter White in Breaking Bad) has taken to the stage in 2014 to play Lyndon B. Johnson in All The Way. The show also features Broadway musicals such as Waitress in 2015, as well as lesser-known and older plays.

An Irish pub, typical of the area, with its share of students who come to toast to exams. We like the authentic side of the place, which relies on its atmosphere and its large selection of beers, which includes some specialties from Massachusetts. The atmosphere heats up as you move through the evening, as it does in any Irish pub. Beware, it's noisy and crowded. Activities are organized every night, from concerts to pub quizzes (Geeks who drink), perfect for making new friends. A lively atmosphere is guaranteed!

This is a nice place to drink a beer and relax, with its large windows that let in the light and its designer interior. Many MIT students come here to relax in the evenings after classes and on weekends. In fact, as a nod to the clientele, the menu, written in chalk on a blackboard, is presented in the form of a periodic table! You can nibble on tacos and other chips on the premises, or even opt for a burger.

A cosy Irish pub with a traditional look, colourful stained glass windows and furniture in earthy tones. The establishment has a long bar and a large dining room, so you are quite comfortable even on weekend evenings. There are burgers, fish & chips, seafood, chicken wings and French fries galore, and Guinness for those who like to drink it up! The others can treat themselves to a wide selection of draught beers and ciders. And the students are more than present.

This independent cinema is a former theatre housed in a beautiful building dating from 1890 and located near Harvard Square. It has a single room and is one of the only cinemas in the country to use rear projection technology (the projector is behind the screen and not behind the spectators). Interesting programming, which changes American blockbusters: films from the 1950s, independent or international films with subtitles, but also documentaries. Many Harvard students attend it.

This is one of the trendiest and most offbeat places in Cambridge! The music programme is out of the ordinary and it's best to buy your ticket in advance if you don't want to miss your evening. Open since the 1970's, the venue has grown from a Lebanese restaurant to a complex of three concert halls, each with a different program, and two restaurants, where you can dine in a fun Oriental atmosphere.
